CLASS AGE GROUPS

At OTB, we go more by “development” than actual age. These defined ages are meant to be a flexible guideline for parents to follow. If you child’s development does not fit the age brackets, they are invited to attend a class that is more appropriate for them according to their development. For example, if your 13 month old is walking, they are invited to attend a toddler class with other walkers, and you may be in a class with a 10 month old walker. Remember, our age appropriations are informal, and we adhere more to “development”. With that being said, we support children attending classes with other children slightly older, as they will learn more from each other than they ever will from any of us!! You also have the option of attending a “Mixed Aged” Class. These are important to us, as there are many documented benefits to children associating with others “outside” of their age group.

OTB classes are separated according to the following age appropriations:

Younger Baby Classes (YB)
Age: 8 weeks to 8 months.
These are babies on their backs, not yet crawling.

Older Baby Class (OB)
Age: 8 months – 16 months.
These are babies crawling, not yet walking.

Toddler Class (TOD)
Age: Walking – 24 months.
This includes children who are newly walking.

Older Toddler Class (OT)
Age: 24 – 36 months.
These are confident and very stable walkers.

Mixed Toddler Class
Age: Walking to 36 Months.

Young Children’s Class
Age:  3 – 6 Years Old (we are not offering these classes at the moment).
